Who Are We ?

What We do

“SACH” offers Monday to Friday holiday breaks for groups of up to about 25 children within about a 4-year age-spread, and aged between 8 and 15 years, together with 4 or 5 Leaders. The children are selected from various agencies such as the Family Service Units, Women's Refuges, Social Service Departments, Schools, Community Associations, Congregations.

The only condition is that the children selected would not otherwise have a holiday.

We fund:

  • the cost of the accommodation
  • travel to and from the Centre
  • limited excursions within a 30-mile radius
  • a “float” for visits and “treats”

In 2009 there were 11 Weeks - equaling the record! We received £35,000 in donations.

10 weeks are planned for 2010 with children from Manchester, Blackburn, Liverpool, Mansfield, Bolton, Nottingham, and Stalybridge. However, donations are much lower - only £14,400 in the first half of the year, which is usually when we get most of our funds.
