The Send a Child to Hucklow Fund

Fundraising

In our 50th Anniversary Jubilee Year ,12-13, several people took part in fund raising ventures on behalf of the Fund, including,

Stella Burney’s Endurance Challenge 31st March 2012

David Ogden’s London Marathon 22nd April 2012

Rev Sue Woolley’s 10k run 13th May 2012

James Barry’s Sermon-a-thon 29th July 2012

Over 200 children visit the Centre each year: We have 15 SACH weeks for 2016!
It costs on a rough average around £320 for each child.

Our special event may be in the past, but we are fortunate in the many ways Unitarian, and other, friends find to keep on supporting us!

  • Single donations
  • Monthly standing orders
  • Legacies
  • Donations “In Memoriam”
  • Fundraising events:
    Coffee Morning
    Concert
  • Special Collections:
    at Christmas, during Lent;
    a special SACH-focused Worship Service
  • Personal Occasions:-
Birthday/Anniversary gifts requested in lieu of presents on that “special” day
    Celebrating that promotion
A “Thank you” for your own holiday
    Gifts of “residual” shares
    Lay Preachers Fees

Some of the children who have enjoyed holidays at Great Hucklow themselves take part in fund-raising activities in their own schools and groups.

All gifts are used for holidays, except for legacies and those made “In Memoriam”, which are put into a Capital Account. The interest from this account is used for the holidays.

The Send A Child To Hucklow Fund originated in 1961 and became a registered charity (No. 271585) in 1976.
